This was the concluding selection in our Salute to Vienna concert featuring music of the Wiener Waldhorn Verein. This was my adaptation of a band arrangement by Jim Christensen which ended up coming out well.
Der Alte Peter is a folksong from Munich about Old Peter (the oldest Cathedral in Vienna). The tune is surrounded in each movement in variations with musical quotes from varying composers. Composed by Erhard Seyfried, this is available from the Wiener Waldhorn Verein library.
